The Climate of The Savanna
Savannas have very unique climates. They have a very distinct dry season during the winter months (for the Australian tropical savanna it is from (May-October) and a wet season during the summer months (November-April). The average annual precipitation in the savanna is 20-40 inches. The dry season usually gets around 4 inches and the wet season usually gets 15-20 inches. It is actually a few degrees cooler during the dry season but the temperature is warm all year round. The average annual temperature for the savanna is 78° F. The average annual temperature during the wet season is around 85°F and the average annual temperature during the dry season is around 70°F. The animals and plants find their niches in this brutal climate with the infertile soil by adapting in ways suitable for their survival.
